The Trafalgar Way Cycle of 300+ miles over 3 days for Care After Combat because our team support our Veterans
n 2015 a team of cyclists from HMS Sutherland cycled from Devonport to the County of Sutherland in Scotland, then back again. This event was a success, it raised awareness and funds for the charity Care after Combat.
Three years on some of the cyclists from the original team plus new members including Veterans that have Served Queen and Country and civilians that support our men and women will cycle the Trafalgar Way consisting of 300 miles (if we don’t get lost) over 3 days but less than 72 hours starting on 11th May 2018.
The Trafalgar Way also known as the Pickle Ride has been chosen because of the difficulty and also to re-live the historic route taken by Lieutenant John Richards Lapenotiere in 1805 when he delivered the news to the Admiralty of Nelson’s victory and unfortunate death at the Battle of Trafalgar.
