ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is delighted to award a £120,000 grant to Broughton House Veteran Care Village in Salford, towards its care for elderly Armed Forces veterans.
A priority for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is ensuring that elderly veterans and their families have the care they need long after their service is over. Broughton House is the only veterans care home in north west England and has a state-of-the-art 64-bed care home village, a specialist dementia unit and six independent living units for couples.
Broughton House’s high-quality care focuses on improving veterans’ quality of life and includes specialist dementia support, in-house physiotherapy, a gym and social activities. Our grant will help the charity to provide care for around 40 Army veterans over the next year.
One veteran’s spouse expressed her appreciation for how the care staff looked after her husband:
“Broughton House is second to none. Staff are always willing and nothing is too much trouble. My husband is ex-Army and the care he receives is outstanding…their passion shines through. I can’t thank the staff enough.”

“We are incredibly grateful for this grant of £120,000 from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. It will go an awfully long way in helping us to not only provide the care that our veterans deserve but to enable them to flourish throughout their later years.”
