Making sense of the Emotional Cycle of Deployment for Children

NFF has developed a ‘pull-out and keep’ resource for parents, carers and schools

Deployment can be an emotional experience for all the family. Understanding the stages and feelings involved can help parents, carers and schools to support children and young people. In the last edition of Homeport, we looked at the Emotional Cycle of Deployment model. In this article, we consider how this model might help us to understand children’s behaviour, and at some strategies that can help children at different stages.
