8th December – Llandudno – Join local military charity for evening of Christmas carols

A military charity is inviting local residents for an evening of Christmas Carols.

On Friday 8 December, Blind Veterans UK, the charity for blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women, will be hosting an evening of musical entertainment at its training and rehabilitation centre in Llandudno.

Amici Del Canto, the award-winning Chamber Choir, will be visiting the centre for the second time this year, having previously performed the opera King Arthur to blind veterans and local residents alike.

Victoria Beech, Regional Fundraiser for Blind Veterans UK, says: “We are really looking forward to welcoming Amici Del Canto back to our Llandudno centre. Our veterans thoroughly enjoyed their performance of the opera King Arthur earlier this year, so it’s safe to say there’s a feeling of festive excitement in the air!”

Not only will Amici Del Canto be treating guests to a selection of traditional festive favourites, but there’ll also be an opportunity to partake in some community singing.

Christmas Carols with Amici Del Canto will take place on Friday 8 December from 7:45pm – 10:00pm. Tickets are £5 per person. Tickets can be pre-booked by calling 01492 868723 or emailing suzanne.evanson@blindveterans.org.uk. You can also book by visiting blindveterans.org.uk/christmascarols. Pre-booking is advised to avoid disappointment.

Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915 and the charity’s initial purpose was to help and support soldiers blinded in the First World War. But the organisation has gone on to support more than 35,000 blind veterans and their families, spanning WWII to recent conflicts including Iraq and Afghanistan.

For more than a century, the charity has been providing vital free training, rehabilitation, equipment and emotional support to blind and vision-impaired veterans no matter when they served or how they lost their sight. Visit blindveterans.org.uk/support to learn more about the charity and how you can support its vital work today.
