A military charity is inviting local residents for a festive morning of coffee and carols.
On Friday 15 December, Blind Veterans UK, the charity for blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women, will be hosting an event at St. George’s Hall Liverpool.
Guests in attendance will be given the opportunity to indulge in carols and minced pies, and even peruse and buy the selection of beautiful Christmas gifts. For those who do find that perfect gift for their loved one, there’ll be a member of staff on hand to wrap their newly purchased gifts, all against an idyllic backdrop of traditional carols, as performed by students from local school, St. Vincent’s.
The event will also provide guests with the perfect opportunity to hear more from the charity’s beneficiaries about the support the organisation offers, as well as ways in which they can get involved.
Victoria Beech, Regional Fundraiser, says: “We are really looking forward to returning to St. George’s Hall, a place where the charity has held many successful events in the past.
“This will also be another opportunity to continue our partnership with St. Vincent’s, who’ve long supported us, including with a trip to Ypres in our centenary year.”
Christmas Coffee and Carols Morning with Blind Veterans UK will take place on Friday 15 December from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Entry is free with a suggestion donation of £2 for a minced pie and hot drink. For more information, please visit blindveterans.org.uk/carolmorning.
Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915 and the charity’s initial purpose was to help and support soldiers blinded in the First World War. But the organisation has gone on to support more than 35,000 blind veterans and their families, spanning WWII to recent conflicts including Iraq and Afghanistan.
