| 100 Diwrnod i Fynd Tan Ddiwrnod Lluoedd Arfog y DU 2018
Dim ond 100 diwrnod sydd i fynd tan y bydd Llandudno yn ganolbwynt cenedlaethol ar gyfer Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog. Er mwyn nodi’r garreg filltir, mae personél mewn lifrai o’r Llynges Frenhinol, y Fyddin, y Llu Awyr Brenhinol, yn ogystal â nifer o staff mewn atyniadau ar hyd a lles Sir Conwy wedi dangos eu cefnogaeth i’r digwyddiad trwy arddangos baner Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog. Mae’r cyffro yn tyfu ar draws y rhanbarth ar gyfer y digwyddiad ar 30 Mehefin. Mae cymaint o bobl eisiau dangos eu cefnogaeth a diolch i’n personél sy’n gwasanaethu ar hyn o bryd, cyn-filwyr, cadetiaid a’u teuluoedd am eu gwaith caled yn ein cadw’n ddiogel gartref a thramor. Ar 30 Mehefin, bydd gorymdaith o tua 1,000 o bersonél presennol, cyn-filwyr, cadetiaid a bandiau’n gorymdeithio, gan adael Cofeb Ryfel Llandudno am 11am i nodi dechrau dathliadau Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog. Bydd yr orymdaith, sydd yn argoeli i fod yn wledd o sain a lliw, yn gorymdeithio lawr y ffordd sydd ger y Promenâd, gan orffen mewn saliwt o flaen nifer o westeion arbennig ac urddasolion y tu allan i Venue Cymru. Yna caiff personél presennol, cyn-filwyr, teuluoedd, ffrindiau ac ymwelwyr gyfle i edrych o amgylch yr arddangosfeydd a gweithgareddau ar hyd Promenâd Llandudno a Chaeau Bodafon, gan gynnwys awyren ddisymud, cerbydau arfog a thanc deifio (oni bai y bydd yr asedau hyn angen cael eu defnyddio). Bydd yn gyfle gwych i’r cyhoedd gael mynd yn agos at asedau’r fyddin. Bydd rhaglen lawn gan gynnwys map safle ar gyfer y digwyddiad yn cael ei chyhoeddi yn nes at yr amser. Rhaid diolch yn arbennig am gefnogaeth Llywodraeth Cymru, ein partneriaid elusennol Cymdeithas y Milwyr, Morwyr, Awyrenwyr a’u Teuluoedd, a’r Lleng Brydeinig Frenhinol am weithio gyda Chyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy i wneud y digwyddiad yn bosibl. Meddai Prif Weinidog Cymru, Carwyn Jones: “Rydw i wrth fy modd fod Cymru wedi’i dewis i gynnal Diwrnod Cenedlaethol y Lluoedd Arfog eleni, ac edrychaf ymlaen at ymuno â chyfeillion mewn digwyddiadau yn Llandudno ymhen 100 diwrnod i ddiolch yn ffurfiol i ferched a dynion ein lluoedd arfog. Mae gennym hanes milwrol balch yng Nghymru, a hoffwn hefyd dalu teyrnged i deuluoedd personél ein Lluoedd Arfog eleni am yr aberth y maent wedi’i wneud er mwyn cefnogi’r rhai hynny sy’n dewis gwasanaethu dros eu gwlad” Meddai’r Cynghorydd Liz Roberts, Cefnogwr Y Lluoedd Arfog Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy “Mae cynnal Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog yn glod mawr i Landudno, ac er ei fod 100 diwrnod i ffwrdd, mae llawer o waith eisoes wedi digwydd y tu ôl i’r llenni i dynnu sylw at yr amgylchedd iawn ar gyfer y diwrnod yn ein tref glan y môr ac i wneud cymuned y lluoedd arfog yn falch. “Ddydd Sadwrn 30 Mehefin, bydd Llandudno yn bwynt ffocws y DU wrth i ni i gyd gydnabod gwaith caled ac ymroddiad personél sy’n gwasanaethu ar hyn o bryd a chyn-filwyr. “Mae’n bwysig nodi carreg filltir y 100 diwrnod a dangos y gefnogaeth sydd gennym yn Sir Conwy, ar draws Gogledd Cymru, a gan y Lluoedd Arfog tuag at y diwrnod gwych yma”. Meddai Ysgrifennydd Gwladol Cymru, Alun Cairns ‘Mae Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog yn gyfle i gymunedau o bob rhan o Gymru ddiolch i’n milwyr, ein cyd-filwyr a’u teuluoedd am eu gwasanaeth am eu hymroddiad a’u dewrder. “Ac ymhen 100 diwrnod, bydd llygaid pawb ar Landudno fel cartref y prif ddathliad cenedlaethol. Byddaf yn falch dros ben o fod yn rhan o’r dathliadau hyn ac ymuno â miloedd o bobl i fynegi ein diolch i’r merched a’r dynion sy’n gwneud cymaint i gynnal ein rhyddid.” Meddai’r Cyrnol Lance Patterson, Dirprwy Gadlywydd 160 Brigâd Troedfilwyr a Phencadlys Cymru: “Mae Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog 2018 yn argoeli i fod yn achlysur pwysig a rhagorol, nid yn unig i Landudno, ond i Gymru gyfan a gweddill y DU. |
100 Day Countdown to UK Armed Forces Day 2018
There are just 100 days until Llandudno becomes the national focus for Armed Forces Day. To mark the milestone, uniformed personnel from the Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force, as well as a number of staff at attractions from across the County of Conwy have shown their support to the event by displaying the Armed Forces Day flag. Excitement is brewing throughout the region for the event on the 30 June, with so many people wanting to show their support and say thank you to our serving personnel, veterans, cadets and their families for all the work they do to keep us safe at home and abroad. On the 30 June, a parade of around 1,000 serving personnel, veterans, cadets and marching bands will step off from the Llandudno War Memorial at 11am to signal the start of the Armed Forces Day celebrations. The parade, which promises to be an impressive display of both sound and colour, will then march down the road adjacent to the promenade, culminating in a salute to a number of special guests and dignitaries outside Venue Cymru. Serving personnel, veterans, families, friends and visitors will then have the chance to interact with exhibitions and activities along Llandudno Promenade and Bodafon Fields including static aircraft, armoured vehicles and a diving tank (all assets are subject to operational requirement). A fantastic opportunity for the public to get up close to military assets. A full programme including an event site map will be released nearer the time. A special thanks goes to the support of Welsh Government, our charity partners SSAFA, and the Royal British Legion for working with Conwy County Borough Council to make this event possible. First Minister Carwyn Jones said, “I am delighted Wales has been chosen to host National Armed Forces Day this year, and look forward to joining friends at events in Llandudno in 100 days to formally thank our service men and women. We have a proud military history in Wales, and I also wish to pay tribute to the families of our Armed Forces personnel this year for the sacrifices they have made to support those who so selflessly chose to serve their country.” Cllr Liz Roberts, Armed Forces Champion, Conwy County Borough Council said “Hosting Armed Forces Day is a huge coup for Llandudno, and despite still being 100 days away, an incredible amount of work has already been undertaken behind the scenes to highlight how our seaside town is the right environment for this event and make the forces community proud. “On Saturday 30 June, Llandudno will become the focal point for the UK as together we acknowledge the hard work and dedication of serving personnel and veterans. “It’s important to mark the 100-day milestone and showcase the support we have within the County of Conwy, across North Wales, and from the Armed Forces towards this fantastic event.” Secretary of State for Wales Alun Cairns said “Armed Forces Day is a chance for communities across Wales to say thank you to our service personnel, veterans and their families for their service, commitment and courage. “And in 100 days’ time, all eyes will fall on Llandudno as host to the main nationwide celebration. I will be proud and privileged to be a part of these celebrations, joining thousands of people in expressing our gratitude to the men and women who do so much to preserve our freedom.” Colonel Lance Patterson, Deputy Commander 160th Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Wales, said: “Armed Forces Day 2018 promises to be an important and fine occasion, not just for Llandudno but for the whole of Wales and the rest of the UK.
