A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Forcesline Advisor in the Client Services Department at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to respond to contact made via the Forcesline helpline, which provides a support and information service for serving, ex-service personnel, their families and the general public. Enquiries include requests for information, practical assistance and emotional support.
SSAFA Forcesline is a free and confidential telephone helpline and email service that provides support for serving (regulars and reserves) and ex-service men and women from the Armed Forces and for their families. As an independent charity, SSAFA is not part of the military chain of command.
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will be a good communicator who can respond to calls from those in need in an efficient, empathic and professional manner. You will have excellent active listening skills and ability to work quickly and accurately, even under pressure.
You will have knowledge of welfare legislation and sources of relevant information as well as experience of providing support to vulnerable/emotional clients, problem solving and working as part of a team.
