A sixth year of backing for the campaign which supports the Armed Forces family
The team at Sodexo has stepped up to sponsor a sixth year of the Big Brew Up fundraising event for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity – encouraging the nation to put the kettle on to raise invaluable funds for the military community.
Building on a successful 14-year partnership that has included volunteering as well as fundraising, Sodexo’s support of the Big Brew Up annual fundraiser shows one of many ways that organisations can show the military community their support and gratitude.
Mark Baker, Managing Director Operations, Sodexo Defence & Government Services: “We help to provide welfare support to service personnel, service families and veterans through a wide variety of Service charities, including SSAFA. This year we are proud to be sponsoring SSAFA’s annual Big Brew Up again, and wholeheartedly encourage people to hold a Big Brew Up and raise vital funds for SSAFA.”
Sir Andrew Gregory, CEO of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity says: “SSAFA is delighted to once again be working with Sodexo on our annual Big Brew Up fundraising campaign. This is a long-standing relationship and one which makes a real difference to those amongst the Armed Forces community in need of support. We look forward very much to a successful Big Brew Up 2018 and hope that more individuals and companies than ever before take part”
The commendable efforts of the Sodexo team mean that SSAFA can continue to provide lifelong support to the Armed Forces, veterans and their families in times of need. Beginning this vital work in 1885, this makes SSAFA the oldest tri-service, military charity running in the UK. This year alone, staff and teams of volunteers have helped over 67,000 people – from World War Two veterans to those involved in more recent conflicts and their families.
It has become clear over more than 130 years of providing Forces support that everyone faces different challenges, so SSAFA uses a tailored approach to meet the needs of today’s serving community. Whether it’s practical, emotional and financial support – SSAFA is there to serve the Armed Forces family every step of the way.
