HM The Queen will pay tribute alongside Members of the Cabinet, Opposition Party leaders, former Prime Ministers, the Mayor of London and other ministers. How can I take part in the National Service of Remembrance?
Each year, veterans participate in the March Past. Places to take part in the Cenotaph March Past on Remembrance Sunday 2018 will be allocated through associations. If you are an individual wishing to apply for tickets please contact your relevant association.
Ex-Service associations can register their interest to take part in the Cenotaph Parade by emailing cenotaph@britishlegion.org.uk.
We will be bringing forward the application dates and deadlines so that associations will have the opportunity to reapply for tickets in August should the full 10,000 tickets not be used. The below dates will be the 2018 deadlines:
- April – Registration email goes out to associations
- 8 June – Application deadline
- End of June – TRBL will confirm with associations the number of tickets they have been allocated
- 20 August – Deadline for associations to complete participant information
- 31 August – Application will re-open for associations to register additional participants. This will only occur if all 10,000 tickets have not been allocated from the previous stage
- 24 September – Final deadline for all participant information
- October – Tickets and joining instructions sent to associations
The number of people who can take part in the March Past is limited to 10,000 people due to capacity and the amount of time participants can reasonably be expected to stand. To achieve fair allocation and wide representation of veterans, the Legion will be rigorously applying the eligibility criteria for the March Past. This is an ex-service personnel march, therefore family representatives will not be eligible to participate.
If you wish to attend the service as a spectator, you can find further information on the website of the Department of Culture, Media & Sport, who are responsible for organising the event.
A Nation’s Thank You – The People’s Procession
