On Friday 28th September, deserving volunteers from SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity were treated to a night at Clevedon Hall in North Somerset. As a reward for their tireless work supporting the military community in the local area, volunteers have been nominated by their Branch Chairs for a treat – donated by Room to Reward.
As part of their stay, the group were invited to a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal and overnight stay at the venue, in recognition of their dedication to the charity.
Room to Reward is a volunteer recognition charity that works with hotels who donate unsold rooms to charities who can nominate their volunteers, who are then rewarded with a short break. Clevedon Hall, a Jacobean-style manor house set in picturesque grounds, donated the entire house and grounds for one night, to recognise the contribution of SSAFA volunteers to the Armed Forces community.
SSAFA’s network of dedicated volunteers spans the country – and last year alone helped over 73,227 members of the military family when in need. It has become clear over more than 130 years of providing Forces support that everyone faces different challenges, so SSAFA uses a tailored approach to meet the needs of today’s serving community.
