- Home will provide care for 74 residents and include a specialist 30-bed dementia wing
The Royal Star & Garter Homes has launched a recruitment drive ahead of the opening of its new home in High Wycombe.
At least 140 new staff members will work at the £26 million care home, which will welcome its first residents in early 2019.
Registered nurses, care assistants, housekeepers and catering staff are all needed to work at the new Home.
It will also have its own fully-equipped physiotherapy room providing residents with in-house therapy. As a result, the Charity is also looking for physiotherapists.
Chelle Daly, High Wycombe Home Manager, said: “I am looking forward to recruiting my team and delivering the excellent care The Royal Star & Garter Homes is so famous for. I am looking for people with a strong team ethic, an outstanding passion for care but above all people who can go the extra mile to ensure our Charity can continue to deliver the best care possible.”
A series of assessment days for prospective employees is scheduled to begin from 15 October.
Once open the Home will provide the Charity’s award-winning specialist nursing and therapeutic care for 74 residents and include a specialist dementia care wing for 30 residents.
The Royal Star & Garter Homes also has homes in Solihull, West Midlands, and Surbiton, south west London.

About The Royal Star & Garter Homes:
The Charity provides award-winning care for veterans and their partners who live with disability or dementia.
The Royal Star & Garter Homes is a charity founded in 1916 to care for the severely injured young men returning from the battlegrounds of the First World War. Today we provide specialist care to the whole military family in our friendly, state-of-the-art Homes. Disabled ex-Servicemen and women, and their spouses, can all benefit from our pioneering approach to nursing, dementia and therapeutic care.
We are in the process of building new Homes around the country to provide specialist nursing care for disabled ex-Service people in the best modern surroundings, including dementia care facilities to address this growing need. The Charity has award-winning Homes in Solihull, West Midlands, and Surbiton, Surrey, which also enables the Charity to offer interim care for young disabled Service personnel. Following the successes of the first two Homes, a third Home in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, is being built, with a planned opening in 2018.
We are proud to have enjoyed Royal patronage since our foundation, including that of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II from 1953 to the present day.
