A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time SQL Developer/DBA to join the IT department at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

About the role

90% of the time will be spent on SQL development such as data transformation, data manipulation and query writing. Part of this will also include proactively identifying opportunities to simplify and standardise existing systems and data flows for improved stability and performance.

10% of the time will be spent on DBA activities which will include:

  • Monitoring and supporting all SQL environments
  • Implementing solid administration techniques within SQL Server
  • Processing requests and advising on changes to all databases

About the team

We are a compact team that provide support for several databases both on-premise and cloud based. We are committed to providing the information that supports the people in the business and allows them to be pro-active where possible.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of:
• Solid experience of working with MS-SQL Server 2008R2 (and upwards)
• Strong TSQL coding skills
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL implementation and design
• Working with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Experience as an operational DBA
