RAF Brize Norton, RAF Northolt, RAF Odiham & RAF Lossiemouth
We are seeking four full-time Personal & Family Support Workers in various locations to join the Personal Support & Social Work Service at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity for an empathic person to join our team and contribute to the further development of the service. You will have the opportunity to develop and add to your existing skills and knowledge base in the Health & Social Care field whilst providing welfare support to all serving RAF personnel, their immediate family and dependents. You’ll work closely with Station Commanding Officers across a vast geographical area, as well as with relevant Local Authorities, Health and other civilian agencies. These may include, but not limited to, one to one support; advocacy; initial assessments and support plans; signposting and referrals to outside agencies. This is an exciting and sometimes unpredictable role where no two days are the same!

Our Personal Support & Social Work Service provides a professional, confidential and comprehensive range of social work and welfare support services to the RAF Community within the UK.
You will join a friendly and supportive team, located on RAF Stations within a large geographical location as part of the wider South Region or North Region.

About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have:
· Direct experience of working in the field of Health and Social Care.
· The ability to manage a caseload through your experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans and monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
· Excellent IT skills including experience of using a management information system.
You must be prepared to travel in the course of your work and a full driving licence and use of car are essential.
