BFBS is bringing back military sport

This afternoon, BFBS will be live streaming its first military sporting event since lockdown began in March, via the Forces News Facebook page.

The 2020 Army Challenge Cup Final between 7 Regiment RLC and 3 RSME (Royal School of Military Engineering) will be live streamed from kick off at 1500 tomorrow, Wednesday 30 September.

Jon Knighton, Sports Editor, BFBS says:

“During this difficult time BFBS is keen to highlight these military sporting events as they happen, so family, friends and supporters of the teams involved can see the game without having to travel. We will look forward to welcoming more live sporting events as and when they are scheduled.”

BFBS plans to do more live streaming as these sporting events occur and military sport emerges further from lockdown.

To make this live stream COVID safe, BFBS will be adhering to a strict Risk Assessment policy introduced for all BFBS filming, and which the MOD is also practicing. This means it will be done using a single camera, with a minimal team on site.

BFBS will also be operating strict COVID safe guidelines regarding cleanliness and social distancing at the event.
