The AFF – Head of Communications and Marketing

We are looking for a talented and experienced Head of Communications and Marketing to lead our existing Communications Team and take responsibility for developing and implementing our communications and marketing strategy. With an opportunity to work remotely and flexibly, this role would suit a creative and dynamic individual with experience of leading a remote team.

About the role:

The role will be responsible to AFF’s Executive Management Board for developing an integrated communications strategy that supports AFF’s business plan and corporate objectives, including marketing support to Forces Families Jobs, the Families Federations’ employment platform.

It will also be responsible for managing and supporting day-to-day work across the team, ensuring that the specialist skills within the team are used in an effective and timely manner to deliver the strategy, while remaining sufficiently agile to respond to emerging issues. The role is the lead for governance and development of AFF’s digital platforms and output, and will develop AFF’s profile across departmental, local and national media.

In addition, the role works alongside other AFF managers and forms part of the wider leadership team which guides, supports and co-ordinates the work of AFF’s 44 staff.

The post is full-time (35 hours per week) with an annual salary offered between £30,940 to £35,035. This role is likely to be home-based whilst COVID-19 restrictions remain in place, with scope to work flexibly between home and the AFF office in Andover as restrictions are lifted.
