With You has Armed Forces Leads are in all our clinical services and services that support over 18s. Over the past two weeks, the Armed Forces Leads have been working with the wider staff teams to contact all veterans and veteran family members that are known to With You given the triggering nature of the situation in Afghanistan.
All veterans have been offered a check in and extended support to keep them safe and to minimise the impact of drugs and alcohol in these difficult times. With You has linked in with local and national Mental Health organisations to better support veterans who may need the added support from specialised services.
With You services have promoted our extended offer through our social media platforms, supported in many areas by local Directors of Public Health.
With You’s Armed Forces Webchat offers free, confidential, non-judgemental online drug and alcohol support for members of the armed forces community (including affected others) every Tuesday 2pm to 4pm at wearewithyou.org.uk on the chat icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Webchat runs throughout the week but the Tuesday sessions are run by a veteran trained worker who will be able to offer support and guidance no matter where in the UK a veteran lives.
