Following the success of the inaugural Longest Day fundraising event in June 2021, leading Armed Forces charity, Walking With The Wounded (‘WWTW’) has once again teamed up with Brian Wood MC and his brand ‘Keep Attacking’ to relaunch the Longest Day Challenge to mark Armed Forces Day which takes place on 25 June 2022.
The Longest Day encourages supporters to go further than they have gone before and set themselves a challenge and a new personal best, all whilst raising vital funds to support veterans and their families with mental health and employment support.
Fergus Williams, WWTW CEO, said,
“The Longest Day is a brilliant fundraising event that puts the power into the hands of our supporters and gives them the freedom to create their own Longest Day challenge throughout June 2022. Last year, I took on my own Longest Day and cycled the distance of 7 marathons in a single day, travelling across the country from our hub in Manchester to our HQ in Norfolk. I had never tackled a distance like that before, but it felt incredible to complete the challenge. This year, I’m once again taking to the saddle to cycle from our hub in Newcastle to Norfolk. It’s going to be tough, but it will be nothing in comparison to the struggles of the veterans that WWTW supports.”
Brian Wood MC, added,
“I am excited to be part of The Longest Day event this June. It’s inspiring to see how people take on the challenge, dig deep and keep attacking to get to their finish line. We saw so many incredible Armed Forces supporters take on phenomenal personal challenges last year and I cannot wait to hear all the inspiring stories and personal feats that take place this year.”
Participants can run, walk, ride, row, swim or sail anytime between 1-30 June to achieve their own goal – or support someone else to achieve theirs.
