Greenwich Hospital – Director of Grants

£70k+ dependant on experience

London and Portsmouth with travel between both and some home working

Greenwich Hospital has been providing support to serving and former Royal Navy and Royal Marine personnel and their families for over 325 years. Founded in 1694, we are a unique Crown Charity and the oldest Royal Navy charity. Last year, we spent nearly £6m in grants in areas such as education, housing and employment support.

Greenwich Hospital is now looking for a new Director of Grants to provide leadership, structure and support for its wide range of grant-giving activities. You will be a  collaborative and inspiring leader able to make a meaningful and sustainable difference to the lives of Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel, veterans and their families. You will have significant experience of grant giving and an in-depth knowledge of good governance and modern monitoring, evaluation and reporting techniques. You will form part of the senior leadership team, helping the organisation set the strategic direction for the future and you will lead and directly manage a small, dedicated grants team. You will also know how to reach out across government, the military charity sector and beyond, able to build successful relationships and act as an ambassador for Greenwich Hospital’s increasing profile. Crucially, you will bring a passion for helping others and a desire to help the organisation work through transformational change.
