Help For Heroes’ Financial Wellbeing course

Help for Heroes continue to offer their virtual Financial Wellbeing course for veterans and family members at a time when the cost of living is still very much a concern within the Armed Forces community.

The course content has been developed in collaboration with partners from St James’s Place and is co-delivered by veteran and family Peer Support Trainers with lived experience.

The course will feature advice on understanding debt, budgeting, good money management, and recognising situations that trigger non-essential spending. It will also provide you with an opportunity to build a toolkit of financial support, guidance, resources, and healthy habits when it comes to spending, saving and planning for your future.

The learning environment is one of mutual support and has received high praise and positive feedback. Speaking about their experience taking the course, one attendee said:

“Finance and debt can be a very emotive subject.  The facilitators kept things simple and easy to understand with time to ask questions. The course is very useful, no matter what your situation is.  The facilitators were so knowledgeable and shared some of their own challenges.  A great course, I have gained so much from attending.”

Another attendee added:

“This is an excellent course; even if an individual feels they have a good understanding of personal financial wellbeing, it is so full of content you will learn something.  It was delivered in an exceptionally friendly and non-judgemental manner, so all participants felt at ease imparting their own financial issues and concerns.”
