We are looking to recruit an ambitious Philanthropy Manager with experience and understanding of both trusts and major donor fundraising who can act as the Charity’s lead subject matter expert. This role would suit a pro-active and ambitious candidate with a specialism in either area, but who understands how these two income streams are closely aligned and complement each other.
With a great portfolio of trusts and growing pool of prospective major donors, this is an exciting time to be joining the Charity. As Philanthropy Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective Philanthropy fundraising strategy that supports income growth and ensures that we deepen our relationships with existing donors and grant givers and proactively engage new donors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in securing high-value gifts and possess exceptional relationship-building skills. You will be responsible for managing and developing the entire trusts and major donor programme strategy, with the autonomy and support to progress these important income streams in line with the 4-year plan. You will line manage two Philanthropy Executives and have support from the Individual Giving and Philanthropy Assistant, working collaboratively to achieve ambitious targets.
As a highly visible representative of the charity, you will need to be able to communicate our mission and outcomes through well targeted proposals, pitches and reports to high net worth individuals and other key funders to engage their financial support. You will also work collaboratively across the Mountbarrow House fundraising team, and with our regional teams across the UK, to explore opportunities to cultivate and steward individual donors and grant makers. As is often the case with these vital relationship fundraising roles, you will be required occasionally travel to attend meetings, and events, and may sometimes need to work evenings/occasional weekends.
The starting salary is £42,000 per annum with 30 days annual leave running from April to March. After a probationary period of 6 months the successful candidate will benefit from the Charity’s full range of employment benefits including an income protection scheme and an employer contribution pension. There will also be opportunities to participate in key Charity events and activities with a TOIL scheme in place.
This is a full-time post for 35 hours per week based at the Charity’s National Office in Victoria, London (the Charity currently operates under a Flexible and Hybrid Working Policy).
Interviews will take place in Mountbarrow House, Victoria, London.
If you have the relevant experience for this role, please apply by sending your CV and supporting statement to the HR Team– hr@soldierscharity.org.
