Four methanol-fuelled 500cc motorcycles being powered around a track at 70mph – with no brakes – is a whole heap of fun to watch, and 40 lucky people will have the chance to see this speedway spectacle at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium with FREE tickets.
The tickets, kindly given to SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity by global promoter Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe for the FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Cardiff on Saturday, September 2 are available for those within the Armed Forces community to the first 40 people to apply.
Sixteen riders – including British Speedway hero and last year’s winner in Cardiff, Dan Bewley, three-time world champion Tai Woffinden, and Robert Lambert – will compete over 23 heats of four laps each in wheel-to-wheel, roller-coaster racing of the highest order.
The day starts in the activity-filled fanzone which will take place on City Hall Lawn (10am -3pm), featuring a chock-full schedule including rider autograph sessions, lots of photo opportunities, plenty of interactive activities and chances to meet the sport’s biggest stars.
The action then switches to the stadium where racing starts at 5pm.
FIM Speedway championships director Laura Manciet said:
“We’re delighted to offer these tickets to SSAFA and the Armed Forces community.
“Seeing the lifelong support that the charity gives to those who are currently serving or have served, and their families makes it an absolute pleasure to be able to invite members to join us at this year’s FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Cardiff.
“We very much look forward to welcoming those who come along for a great day at the Principality Stadium on September 2.”
*The 40 free tickets are for members of the Armed Forces community – serving or retired – and their families, and are limited to two per person.
