ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is delighted to award a £109,910 grant to Care for Veterans towards its specialist care services for disabled ex-soldiers.
For many years ABF The Soldiers’ Charity has supported Care for Veterans, which is the only organisation in southern England specialising in disability, nursing and rehabilitation care for Armed Forces veterans (or dependents).
The charity’s 60-bed facility in Worthing offers specialist support for a wide range of physical disabilities, such as Acquired Brain Injury and other neurological conditions, genetic disorders, amputations and sight impairments. In 2022, the charity cared for 85 residents, 47 per cent of whom were Army veterans – the average age was 73.
Our grant will enable the charity to continue providing its wide range of services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social recreational activities, speech and language therapy, chaplaincy and neuropsychology.
