The Army Benevolent Fund is delighted to award a £4,470 grant to Clervaux Trust to fund its activities for Army families.
Our charity is committed to promoting the welfare of Army families. Clervaux Trust is based in Croft-on-Tees near Darlington and works with local community groups and the Army Welfare Service.
Our grant will help to fund Clervaux Fold, the charity’s dedicated centre for Army families from the nearby Catterick Garrison. The courses cover crafts, pottery, textiles, gardening and other activities that create a socially friendly ‘home away from home’ for family members, including those with additional needs and disabilities.
Senior Fundraiser, Bethan Davies, Clervaux Trust, said:
“We are truly delighted by the continued support of the Army Benevolent Fund for this project. As the Fold’s Army family community grows from strength to strength, the consistency of these activities throughout the year really goes a long way for boosting the confidence and wellbeing of people of all ages. Army families find new hobbies, precious family memories are made, as well as lasting social connections, all of which are priceless.”
Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer, Army Benevolent Fund, added:
“Promoting the welfare of Army families is a priority area for our charity, many of whom often need shared quality time together, given the pressures brought about by family separation and operational service. We were very pleased to award another grant towards Clervaux Trust’s work this year.”
