Invitation to Take Part in an Online Research Study (Women Veterans and Alcohol Use)

King’s Centre for Military Health Research is conducting a 12-week online study focused on supporting women who have served in the UK Armed Forces and consume alcohol.

We are conducting a study testing multiple digital platforms to support women veterans manage their alcohol use. Each platform has been developed incorporating feedback and guidance from focus groups with women veterans and charities to be tailored to the unique needs of women veterans.

To take part, individuals must:

  • Be aged 18 years or older
  • Identify as female
  • Live in the United Kingdom
  • Be a veteran of the UK Armed Forces and have been discharged from service within the past 24 months;
  • Drink alcohol
  • Own a smartphone which the study app can be downloaded and accessed on

At the end of the study, participants who complete the final questionnaire will receive a £20 Love2Shop voucher as a thank you for taking part.

Participation is completely voluntary. 

By taking part in this research study, participants will be helping the ex-serving community by helping us test a novel technology to support women veterans with alcohol use.
