HighGround Charity secures prestigious role in delivering on the Office for Veteran Affairs (OVA) Op PROSPER supporting Veterans into employment

HighGround Charity is thrilled to announce its selection as one of the few organisations chosen to support the Office for Veterans’ Affairs (OVA) Op PROSPER initiative. This prestigious programme, awarded through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, aims to empower veterans and their families across the United Kingdom by ensuring equal access to employment opportunities and enabling them to thrive in society.

As part of Op PROSPER, HighGround has developed a groundbreaking two-year programme specifically designed to support female veterans in their transition to new careers within the Further Education land-based sector. This innovative initiative will provide participants with the tools and qualifications necessary to succeed, including a recognised Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) teaching qualification.

Year One: Laying the Groundwork for Success:

The first year of the program will focus on identifying and supporting female veterans who are within the scope of this initiative. HighGround will host a series of online webinars and taster days in partnership with Sparsholt College and Bicton College, part of The Cornwall College Group. These events are designed to introduce potential participants to the opportunities available within the Further Education land-based sector and overarching Landbased sector to gauge their interest in pursuing a teaching qualification.

Year Two: Equipping Female Veterans with the Skills to Thrive:

In the second year, the programme will see two cohorts, each comprising of up to ten female veterans, embark on a ten-week blended learning course. This rewarding programme will culminate in the participants earning a Level 3 AET qualification, a key stepping stone toward a teaching career in the Further Education land-based sector. To ensure a smooth transition, HighGround and partner colleges will provide ongoing mentoring and support, helping these veterans navigate their new career paths with confidence and success.

A Commitment to Veterans and Their Families:

HighGround’s involvement in Op PROSPER reflects its unwavering commitment to supporting veterans and their families. By empowering female veterans to gain recognised qualifications and transition into meaningful careers, HighGround is not only enhancing their employment prospects but also contributing to the strength and diversity of the Further Education and Land-based sector.

“We are immensely proud to be part of Op PROSPER and to have the opportunity to support female veterans in such a meaningful way,” said Jamie Crisp, CEO at HighGround. “This programme is a testament to the strength, resilience, and potential of our veterans, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on their lives and the communities they will serve.”
