Yes we’re back with our Armed Forces Pensions Awareness campaign which again runs alongside the national Pension Awareness campaign throughout the week of 9-13 September.
Why does it matter to you? Planning ahead, ensuring you make the best pension choices is more important than ever. Armed Forces Pension Schemes (AFPS) are complex and that’s why we at the Forces Pension Society treat Pension Awareness Week as the perfect opportunity to help raise awareness of the importance of your pension, so ultimately you can improve your long-term financial wellbeing from which to launch your second career, and lay the foundations for a dignified retirement.
Our campaign will include group presentations as part of our usual Roadshow programme:
9 September: 18 Signal Regiment; Captains Warfare Course
10 September: ITG Chicksands
11 September: Army Staff London and MOD Main Building
13 September: Army RSM Designate Course
For our main campaign, we’ll be including online myth busting/tips and facts, and live presentations for the Ministry of Defence on the 10 & 12 September.
There is always more that can be done to make serving personnel more aware of the true value of their pension, and never was our theme “it pays to understand your pension” more relevant to you and your future well-being. As well a creating awareness for those serving who may not have yet thought about their pension our aim is also to reach out to those in resettlement, veterans, and families.
