SSAFA’s 2024 Christmas collection launches

Children are back in school, vast tubs of chocolates and packets of mince pies are in the supermarkets, and the savvy cooks will soon put their Brussels sprouts on to boil.

Catalogues are popping through the letterbox and promotional emails are appearing in inboxes across the land, and this means one thing: Christmas is coming.

Naturally enough, SSAFA the Armed Forces charity has its own range of cards, gifts, and goodies on offer with all sales helping to fund the charity’s life-changing work.

Among items on sale this year are the ever-popular “military robins” cards featuring the festive favourite in the peaked caps of the three services. This charming trio also appears on a mug, tea towel, and a placemat – all of which make ideal gifts. Robins feature on a range of quality T-shirts for all three services, and are available in men’s, ladies, and children’s sizes.

Clothing of another kind altogether comes in the form of camouflage boxer shorts suitable for the sailor, soldier, or aviator – but not commando – in your life.

And, with an eye on 2025, there is a range of calendars available, including one exclusive to SSAFA by renowned artist Sherin Aminossehe, of historic castles and stately homes of Britain. Poignantly, and appropriately for the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII, May features a pen-and-ink sketch of Buckingham Palace on VE Day, May 8, 1945.

Remember that proceeds from all sales help the Armed Forces family of yesterday, today, and tomorrow so that whatever they may be facing, they do not need to battle it alone.
