Celebrating Anna Baker Cresswell’s legacy at HighGround Charity

After 13 remarkable years at the helm of HighGround, our inspirational founder Anna Baker Cresswell will be leaving the charity on 31 May 2025. Anna’s last engagement will be on the 29 May 2025 at the City Veterans CIC, charity Dinner at Lancaster House, where HighGround have the privilege of being the Charity of choice this year.

Anna’s vision and tireless dedication have helped numerous individuals, through HighGround’s horticultural therapy services and for those transitioning from military to civilian life, into the land-based sector. Her unwavering commitment has left an indelible mark on the Armed Forces community and the land-based sector alike.

Jamie Crisp, CEO of HighGround, expressed his admiration:

“Anna’s passion and determination have shaped HighGround into the impactful charity it is today. Her innovative approach has changed lives, providing hope, purpose, and new opportunities for so many. We will continue to build on the extraordinary foundation she has laid and continue to honour her legacy.”

Simon Caraffi, Chair of Trustees, echoed this sentiment:

“Like, I suspect, everyone who has had contact with HighGround, I am in awe of Anna’s extraordinary achievement. Her vision in creating the charity has been matched by her commitment and sheer hard work over so many years to bring HighGround to the much-admired and respected organisation it now is. On behalf of everyone involved with HighGround I want to thank Anna and wish her success in her future ventures.”

As we bid farewell to Anna, we celebrate her exceptional contributions to HighGround and look forward to building on her legacy to expand the charity’s reach and impact in the years to come.
