Greenwich Hospital has awarded Recruit for Spouses (RFS) Career Academy a grant of £17,000 to fund their Coaching and Mentoring programme for Royal Navy and Royal Marines partners.
The funding enables RFS Career Academy to enhance its comprehensive support for military families by expanding its Coaching and Mentoring Programme, which includes growing its network of professional mentors and developing tailored resources to help military partners re-enter the workforce or transition into voluntary roles.
In addition, the funding enables RFS to increase its Mental Health and Wellbeing Programme, broadening the availability of virtual sessions to address issues such as anxiety, isolation, and the emotional challenges of frequent relocations. It also facilitates the delivery of nationwide community workshops focused on employability skills and professional development and helps foster connections within the military community.
Recruit for Spouses is a pioneering social enterprise founded by Heledd Kendrick, a military partner who identified the need for tailored employment and coaching support for those wanting to re-enter the workforce. The RFS Career Academy provides free coaching and mentoring, mental health support, workshops and resources through its Self-development Hub.
Jonathan Ball, Director of Grants, Greenwich Hospital, commented:
“Recruit for Spouses fosters a strong sense of community among Royal Navy families, offering practical support to help partners secure employment or engage in voluntary work, giving them a personal sense of fulfilment but also making their services an asset to the Royal Naval community.”
Heledd Kendrick, CEO and Founder, Recruit for Spouses, added:
“This funding is a game-changer for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines communities. It enables us to expand our reach, creating opportunities for military spouses and partners to support each other while taking tangible steps toward personal and professional success.”
