AFF is researching the challenges that Armed Forces families may experience when transitioning to civilian life, as well as the support available to them, so we can identify any gaps.
We would like to follow families through the transition process to gain a better understanding of the practical and emotional aspirations and challenges that surround transition, to give us a much broader understanding of the needs and wants of transitioning families.
We need volunteers for this research: families whose Service person is leaving the Armed Forces between now and April 2018 and who can commit to four Skype or telephone interviews over the course of a year. As a token of our gratitude for being involved in the project, every family will receive a ‘thank you’ voucher courtesy of ESS.
We hope our research and work will lead to improvements to the services and policies available to families and make the transition process much smoother for all involved.
For more information or to volunteer, contact Rosie Buxton at transition@aff.org.uk
AFF is working collaboratively with the Naval and RAF Families’ Federations. If your serving person is in the Royal Navy or RAF and you wish to volunteer, please contact transition@nff.org.uk or transition@raf-ff.org.uk
