On Saturday 13 September 2025, Alabaré is hosting an exciting day of running at the UK’s iconic Thruxton Race Circuit, featuring two unique races designed to appeal to competitive runners, families, corporate teams, and charity supporters. By participating, you’ll not only enjoy a memorable experience but also help fund vital services for those experiencing homelessness in the UK.
Rebecca Mullen, Event Organiser at Alabaré, said:
“We wanted to create an event that would be as rewarding for participants as it is impactful for those we serve. Whether you’re aiming to hit a new personal best on our 10K Speedway or bringing your family along to the fun-filled Colour Dash, every entry helps Alabaré continue its crucial mission of providing safe housing and support to vulnerable people. We’re proud to invite people from all walks of life to be part of this amazing event.”
The Races
- 10K Speedway
Competitive runners and race enthusiasts are invited to push their limits on one of the UK’s fastest motor racing circuits. This flat, smooth tarmac course offers an ideal opportunity to set a personal best, compete in a timed event, or complete your first 10K. With chip timing, UK Athletics accreditation, and plenty of support, it’s a race designed for success. - Colour Dash
Perfect for families, recreational participants, and corporate teams, the Colour Dash is an afternoon of fun and energy. Participants will run, walk, or dance through five music-inspired colour stations, ending with a spectacular foam-filled finish. Expect plenty of laughter, music, and camaraderie as everyone comes together to celebrate for a great cause.
Rebecca Mullen added:
“Whether you’re a competitive athlete or simply looking for a joyful day out with family and friends, we’ve got something for you. This is also a brilliant opportunity for companies to bring their teams together for a day of team-building, wellness, and community support.”
Why It Matters?
Homelessness is a growing crisis in the UK. As of 2024, an estimated 354,000 people are currently considered homeless in England, including both rough sleepers and those living in temporary accommodation. This figure is expected to continue rising in 2025, underscoring the urgent need for support services like those provided by Alabaré.
Alabaré’s mission is to offer more than just shelter; the charity provides tailored support, helping people rebuild their lives and regain independence. Over the past 30 years, Alabaré has supported more than 34,000 people, offering safe homes, professional assistance, and hope for a brighter future.
Rebecca Mullen emphasized the importance of this support:
“Events like this allow us to continue our work and reach even more people facing homelessness. Every participant and donation helps us provide life-saving care and resources to those in need.”
