Andrew James Lockett receives an MBE for voluntary services to veterans.
He took over as treasurer of the South Atlantic Medal Association (1982) in 2005 and has worked tirelessly to see the organization transformed from an unregulated members’ club to a registered charity and a charitable company which is now backed by a reliable income, healthy reserves and a governance system that achieves highly on the compliance scale.
Andrew served aboard HMS Endurance when the Falklands Conflict broke out and subsequently rose to the Royal Naval rank of Lieutenant Commander. Andrew has since been pivotal in building a charity with the sole purpose of providing support to fellow Falklands Conflict Veterans.
