The Directory of Social Change will be hosting a free online event to launch the new report Sector Insight 2024 – Armed Forces Charities: An Overview and Analysis. The launch will be held online at 14:30 on Thursday 18 April.
Funded by Forces in Mind Trust, the report provides insight into those charities that support the UK Armed Forces Community. The event will cover a number of topics on Armed Forces charities including the following
- Total numbers and types of charity
- Changing composition of the sector over time
- Financial size and characteristics of the sector
- Financial health of the sector over time
- Financial journeys of individual charities over time
- An overview of charities by beneficiary groups supported.
- Longitudinal trends in opening and closing of charities
- Examples of collaboration, evaluation and grant-making practices
- Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis
What to expect
The event will include a presentation of the key findings by researchers at the Directory of Social Change, before moving into a Q&A section with panellists from across the sector on the importance of good evidence and insight in the sector.
