Armed Forces Day is a chance to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. With many across the country showing their support, BuildForce is delighted to announce we will be hosting our own fundraising event to mark the celebration and honour our commitment as proud members of the Armed Forces Covenant.
When?
With celebrations commencing on Monday 19 June when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and famous landmarks around the country, we will be hosting our event on Saturday 24 June.
Where?
BuildForce is hosting a 15 mile walk which is suitable for all fitness levels. Starting at the Fleur De Lys Inn, Cranborne, then a cross-country trek through the idyllic Dorset & Hampshire countryside, ending back at the pub, where we will be greeted with a much-deserved cold drink and buffet (provided by BuildForce). Programme Director Caroline Logan will provide motivation and support to our walkers, as she leads the trek.
It is free to sign up and we ask that each person raises a minimum of £50 for BuildForce to continue its support of our Service Leavers and Veterans. Please register your interest at info@buildforce.org.uk with fundraising at Donations – BuildForce (peoplesfundraising.com)
Why?
At BuildForce, supporting our Armed Forces is at the heart of everything we do. Our respect and admiration for all those who serve our country, inspire us to provide our service in return. All money raised at the event will support BuildForce continue with the much-needed work we do in supporting our Service Leavers and Veterans transition into the next phase of their life, by upskilling and securing employment.
