ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is pleased to award a £43,567 grant to The Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation to provide a range of support to vulnerable military veterans.
The Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation (Stoll) provides affordable, high-quality housing and support services to enable vulnerable and disabled veterans to lead fulfilling, independent lives. Around 300 vulnerable and disabled veterans are housed by Stoll at its sites in West London and Aldershot.
This grant will fund a year’s costs of Stoll support staff managing the financial and social impact of the pandemic on veterans living in its housing schemes, and providing specialist mental health care, counselling, debt advice, help with welfare benefits, employment and domestic care.
Air Commodore (Ret’d) Richard Gammage, Chief Executive of the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, said:
“Our veterans are variously elderly, infirm and vulnerable and, having served our nation, they are deserving of our enduring support. Housing helps, and we do need to do more to ensure there are no homeless veterans, but it is the support that an organisation like the Stoll Foundation can offer that serves to make the biggest difference to the veteran community. This grant from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity enables us to deliver such life improving support.”
