BFBS Academy is thrilled to announce that the application process is now open for its highly sought after Production Managers Course.
The fully-funded program – now running for the third consecutive year – is designed to support the transition of service leavers and veterans into one of the media industry’s most in-demand roles. Graduates will now receive a UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical and Production Practice for the Creative Industries.
The BFBS Academy is part of the military charity and media organisation BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service) and aims to facilitate the transition of veterans and service leavers into creative media roles, providing training, experience, and qualifications.
Course Overview:
The seven month in-person course starts in September 2024 at BFBS’s HQ in Chalfont St Peter. The course is tailored for individuals interested in media, aiming to leverage their existing skills in a challenging new environment.
Unlike traditional courses, prior professional experience in media is not a prerequisite. The curriculum focuses on practical knowledge and provides work placements, essential for securing roles as Production Coordinators or Production Managers within the media industry.
Financial Support:
BFBS is committed to covering all course fees and providing a tax-free bursary of £9,000 over seven months to assist with living costs and accommodation.
Work Placement Opportunities:
In addition to the core curriculum, students benefit from at least four weeks of work placement during the course, collaborating with supportive partners in the broadcast and media industry. Examples of previous placements include Fremantle UK and All3Media.
Extra Qualifications:
Participants can achieve additional Level 3 Awards in Podcast Production and Multicamera Production, enhancing their skills.
Instructors, Learning Resources and Facilities:
The course is delivered by industry professionals, including experts in postproduction, scripting, TV production, radio, audio technologies, and production management.
BFBS Academy ensures accessibility for all, including wounded, injured, or sick individuals, with wheelchair-accessible classrooms and facilities. All necessary materials and equipment, including laptops and broadcast-standard equipment are provided.
