Blind Veterans UK is the national charity for ex-Service men and women with severe sight loss.
Founded in 1915 in response to blinded soldiers returning from the First World War, Blind Veterans UK has supported tens of thousands of Armed Forces and National Service veterans to rebuild their lives after sight loss. While Blind Veterans UK initially cared for veterans blinded in active Service, today we help veterans no matter what caused their sight loss. Losing your sight, whether in active service, or through disease or age-related conditions, can lead to a feeling of hopelessness.
We have two dedicated centres supporting wellbeing in all aspects of blind veterans lives including holidays and respite breaks.
We constantly strive to innovate and improve and, throughout our history, have led the way in many of the advances in technology to improve the lives of our veterans. From creating the first talking books in the 1930s to our new Smart Centres today.
We are also very proud that we have recently achieved the Armed Forces Covenant Gold award which means that we are part of an exceptional group of organisations networking together as gold-standard employers.
With a pipeline of global corporates, for this homebased role, we are looking for an experienced fundraiser to lead on generating income to help us make sure that our veterans receive the rehabilitation, training and support they need to live independent lives.
A track record of account management and stewardship of corporate partnerships is essential for this role or demonstrable transferable skills.
