We’re Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives after their sight has been affected. Founded in 1915, by Sir Arthur Pearson, to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have over a century of experience providing the best care to our veterans.

Since then, we’ve provided support to tens of thousands of vision-impaired veterans, helping them to regain their independence. By providing our members with the tools and skills they need to lead a fulfilling and active life, we ensure they remain valued members of society.

Our Centre of Wellbeing in Llandudno offers visually impaired veterans’ holidays, training and rehabilitation services. Since opening our doors in 2011, we have helped more than 12,000 veterans with specialist support to enable them to enjoy life to the fullest.

We are currently seeking a Hospitality Team Member to join our team in Llandudno on a full-time basis for a one year fixed term contract, working 37.5 hours per week on a rolling roster to cover the annual leave and absence requests of Night Team colleagues.

The Role

As a Hospitality Team Member, you will support the smooth, safe and efficient running of our Centre of Wellbeing in Llandudno,

You’ll be a positive presence across the Centre, providing an excellent customer service experience to all guests, assisting with administration and bookings, responding to calls and ensuring all personal and accommodation requirements are met.

Handling the administration of financial transactions, you’ll maintain accurate invoices and collect payments, ensuring unpaid accounts and queries are addressed.

Additionally, you will:

– Occasionally provide cover for Night Team colleagues
– Monitor guest feedback
– Ensure an efficient deliveries and mail distribution system
– Assist members with room and centre orientation

About You

To be considered as a Hospitality Team Member, you will need:

– Customer care and administration skills
– An excellent telephone manner
– Great communication skills
– Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, database systems and intranet
– GCSEs in English Language and Mathematics (Grade 4 / C)
