Next month, a team from CDS Defence & Security (CDS DS) will ascend Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to raise funds for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
CDS DS is a consultancy specialising in engineering, training and learning, and cyber security, information and assurance within the sector. In 2022, its employees – its workforce is around 50% with a military background – voted to support SSAFA with fundraising activities for the following three years.
On Friday 6 September, a team of staff will tackle Yr Wyddfa, which at some 1,085 metres, is the highest peak in England and Wales, and can present a challenging climb at any time of the year.
The motivation to fundraise for SSAFA is heartfelt within the team. Comments from those taking part include:
“As a former serving member of the Armed Forces, I saw first-hand on numerous occasions the positive effects received by soldiers and their families from the support SSAFA can offer.”
“As an ex-serving member of the Armed Forces, I value the steadfast support offered by SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. SSAFA extends the camaraderie forged during military service by assisting veterans and their families navigate life beyond the uniform.”
“I’ve spent most of my life in the defence industry and it has been a privilege for me to help create systems that keep our serving men and women as safe as possible from foes, but in any conflict, there will be causalities and in any unfortunate event the SSAFA provides very valuable support to those in need.”
