Defence Minister Visits OA London Office

Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, the Rt Hon Tobias Ellwood MP, met OA staff and volunteers, while visiting several military charities in London on Thursday 6th July.

The Minister, who is responsible for Defence People and Veterans, spoke to Lee Holloway, OA Chief Executive Officer, and Nigel Hare, OA Head of Benevolence, about how we support transitioning and former officers, as well as their dependants. The Minister has a personal interest in the OA, having served as a Captain in the Royal Green Jackets.

The Minister then met several Honorary Representatives (Hon Reps), our nationwide network of volunteers who provide a crucial link between the OA and beneficiaries. The Minister learned more about how they help the Benevolence Team in the London office to assess applicants’ needs and make home visits.
