SSAFA

Expedia partners with SSAFA

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity welcomes a new partnership with Expedia Group as the travel tech company continues to support the military community.

The partnership launched with a donation of US$20,000 (approximately £15,800), beginning what will be a valuable relationship for 2024 and beyond.

Jenny King, Corporate Development Manager of SSAFA, collected the donation from the Expedia Group office in London.

Commenting on the partnership, Jenny said:

Corporate Partnerships are extremely valuable to SSAFA, as they help us provide life changing support to the entire Armed Forces Community. None of the work we do would be possible without the support and commitment from companies such as Expedia Group.

Joanna Patterson, who leads the Veterans at Expedia Group and Their Supports Inclusion Business Group (VETS IBG), commented:

We are delighted to partner with SSAFA and support the Armed Forces. At Expedia Group, the mission of our VETS IBG is to engender community, mentorship, and career growth for veterans while partnering with the diverse community of families, friends, and first responders to build and better Expedia Group overall.

We know that those who currently serve, as well as veterans of all ages, their spouses and partners, and families are challenged in unique and complex ways, many of which are unknown or misunderstood. We were impressed by all the initiatives, case work support and mentoring SSAFA provides to those in need and hope that the kick-starter is just the tip of the iceberg.

SSAFA works across the UK and around the world so that no member of the Armed Forces community – reserve or regular, serving or retired, and regardless of rank or regiment, squadron or ship, and their families – must battle on alone.
