Dr Jeff Stephenson is a Group Captain in the Royal Australian Air Force for whom he is Clinical Director Primary Health Care Air Force Health Reserves, based in New South Wales, Australia. He is also Regional Senior Aviation Medical Officer Institute of Aviation Medicine, Senior Medical Advisor to RAAF Richmond, and Surgeon General ADF appointed Chair of the Medical Officer Professional Development Committee.

GPCAPT Stephenson first started working in Defence Health at 2FLD Ambulance in 1988 and enlisted into the Air Force in 1998. He has deployed to East Timor, Banda Aceh and the Middle East and performed aeromedical evacuations from most countries in our Pacific arc, including Bali, as well as from the Middle East and Europe. In 2008, he was awarded an Order of Australia for Meritorious Service in the fields of Operational and Garrison Health. He has a Master’s degree in Aerospace Medicine and is an inaugural Fellow of the College of Aerospace Medicine.

His current focus is on shaping Australian Defence Health to align with the current strategic environment.
