Walking With The Wounded is excited to announce FDM Group, a global IT professional services company, as a Presenting Partner of the charity’s annual flagship fundraising event the ‘Cumbrian Challenge’.
The Cumbrian Challenge, now in its 9th year, takes place in Grasmere in the Lake District. It invites teams of 3 to 4 to take on one of 3 routes across the Fells, to raise money to support those who served. Participants also have the chance to meet, walk with and be inspired by WWTW beneficiaries during the event.
Over the years, more than 1,000 teams have tackled the Lake District event and raised £1.2 million to help fund WWTW’s Employment, Mental Health, Care Coordination and Volunteering programmes.
James Davis, WWTW Events Manager, commented,
“FDM Group are long-term supporters of Walking With The Wounded’s Cumbrian Challenge and those who served. It is fantastic that they have chosen once again to support the Cumbrian Challenge, enabling us to create another memorable fundraising event. This year, we have created 3 new walking routes and we cannot wait to follow the FDM teams as they take on the challenge for the 7th year in a row.”
Stewart Sharman – Head of FDM Ex-forces Programme, added,
“FDM is committed to supporting those who served. We have supported the Armed Forces community since 2014 through our Ex-Forces Programme and through partnerships with organisations like Walking With The Wounded. We are excited to support the Cumbrian Challenge event once again and our teams are looking forward to tackling the new routes head-on.”
