Felix Fund – the bomb disposal charity was thrilled to receive a grant of £20,000 towards its preventative stress training based on mindfulness from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund.
Felix Fund has been running its Dashboard program since early 2016 helping men and women from all aspects of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Search to recognise signs of stress and other mental health issues and to provide tools and techniques for dealing with them.
The pandemic meant the residential courses had to be cancelled but we quickly adapted and offered virtual sessions. Happily, we will be restarting the program in September and can start helping those who often suffer in silence and will no doubt have been affected by the lockdown.

‘’It was disappointing and worrying when we had to cancel our Dashboard program because of Covid-19. Offering the virtual sessions went some way to helping those in greatest need but it does not have the same impact the residential courses have on individuals. This grant from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund mean we can kick start the program in early September and ensure we offer this help where it is urgently needed.’’
