ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is delighted to award a £270,000 grant to the Forces Employment Charity (FEC) to fund its Ex-Forces Employment Programme supporting Army veterans.
Helping veterans to find rewarding civilian careers is a priority for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. The FEC delivers tailored employment services to the Armed Forces community and last year it supported around 22,000 veterans and families. The charity’s Ex-Forces Employment Programme supported 3,086 beneficiaries, 2,136 of whom were Army veterans, and 40 per cent were placed into new jobs.
Darren is a veteran who served in the Royal Logistic Corps for over 20 years. The FEC helped him secure a new job as a Forestry Operative and he was promoted later on to Employment Supervisor. Darren says: “My employment advisor helped me through some of the difficulties in finding funding and getting the qualifications needed to start a new career. Getting my new job has given me a sense of achievement.”
