Fundraising starts small

(Andover, 8 June 2017) Owned and managed by Waitrose, the Longstock Park Water Garden near Andover in Hampshire is one of the finest water gardens in the world. It opens its gates to the public on selected dates in support of a nominated charity. We are very grateful to John Lewis Partnership to have chosen DMWS as the selected charity last Sunday.

With the garden attracting visitors from near and far, it provided a perfect opportunity to promote the Charity’s work to a wider audience. Allen Thomson, Chairman of DMWS said:

“I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people who visited the gardens…There is no doubt that people will have seen and heard about DMWS for the first time.”

A special thank you to our youngest fundraisers Luke (5) and Meghan (6) who more than earned their ice-cream reward by ensuring every visitor heard our message. Volunteers from DMWS used this opportunity to raise the Charity’s profile and were on hand to answer any questions about our service. We are delighted to have received donations in excess of £700.
