As part of Pride Month, The Poppy Factory is opening its doors to host LGBT+ Veterans & Fighting With Pride for an afternoon in June!
The Poppy Factory celebrated its centenary last year – since its conception in 1922, its historic site in Richmond has provided support, employment and produced vital, iconic tokens of Remembrance for the entire Armed Forces Community. By 1931, the factory was producing 30 million poppies a year, and supporting 320 men, women, and children on the site in Richmond. Remembrance wreaths are still produced by hand there to this day.
On Friday 16 June, we have a rare opportunity to have the site to ourselves, with a full tour, to make some Wreaths and partake in some tea, coffee and cake at their beautifully restored factory. It’ll also be a great opportunity to meet other LGBT+ Veterans and spend an afternoon socialising with everyone and meeting some of the FWP team.
We’d love to see you from 1pm, details are on the poster above.
