Haig Housing Trust announces new Chair of the Board of Trustees

Haig Housing Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of John Bartlett as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees. John takes over from David Williams on 18 June 2025.

David Williams has served as Chair for the past five years and during his tenure has played an instrumental role in the growth and success of the Trust.

John Bartlett is a seasoned senior leader experienced in the veterans’ charity sector and in fundraising. Currently, John serves as a Board member for an HSBC business in the Middle East and is also a trustee of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee at the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. He previously held the role of Chair of Barnardo’s, the largest children’s charity in the UK.

In welcoming John to his new role, Haig Housing Trust’s CEO, Tim Stockings, said “We are thrilled to have John join us as Chair of the Board of Trustees. His experience and track record will be invaluable in helping the Trust achieve its ambitious plans. We look forward to working alongside him to build on the Trust’s mission to provide affordable housing to veterans in housing need”

John added

“I’m looking forward to working with the Haig team to develop further the sound foundations built over the last five years – as well as being able to visit Haig’s communities and our beneficiaries.”

Haig Housing Trust would like to express its deep gratitude to David Williams whose leadership and vision have been critical in driving the Trust’s success. Under David’s stewardship, the Trust has strengthened its position as the UK’s leading housing provider for veterans.

“We are incredibly thankful for David’s leadership and dedication throughout his tenure as Chair” said Tim Stockings. “His tireless efforts have laid a strong foundation for the Trust’s future. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and are deeply appreciative of the legacy he leaves behind.”
