On 11 March 2008, The Veterans Charity became a registered charity and we are proud to be celebrating our 17th birthday.
During the past 17 years, we have created memorials which honour the heroes who spearheaded the entire D-Day invasion and helped to educate the generations that followed about the incredible bravery and sacrifices of those involved in the operations.
Through our Routes of Remembrance and Ribbon of Poppies initiatives, we have helped to honour the millions who have given their lives in service and brought communities across the Globe together through unique acts of Remembrance.
We have supported around 7000 Veterans with immediate needs such as food, utilities, clothing and communications, working alongside dozens of organisations who refer to us daily.
Through our welfare work we have been able to create incredible partnerships with organisations including Forces Support, the RLC Association, WRAC Association and The RNBT.
We have also supported many more members of the Armed Forces Community through our breakfast clubs, The Big Breakfast events, coffee mornings and Black Dog Walking Club meetings.
We’ve also been very proud to engage with serving military personnel and units, corporates and many communities both here in the UK and in France through challenges including Project 65, The Forces March, Ride To Horsa, Run To Pegasus, The Falklands Challenge and more.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us during the past 17 years, it’s been an honour and a pleasure all the way – here’s to many, many more!
