Last weekend former Welsh Guardsman and Iraq veteran Allan Roberts took part in the Welsh 2 Day Enduro, a 250-mile off-road dirt-biking race in North Wales, the biggest event of its kind in the UK.
Allan is also a double amputee and before the race said: “This is a tough challenge for me. As you can imagine, racing a motorbike off-road with no legs is interesting!” Not only did he complete the event, Allan managed to come 55th out of the 118 competitors – a truly amazing achievement! The NFA has supported Allan for a number of years, helping him to push himself and find a new life beyond his injuries. His courage and determination, about which Allan is incredibly modest, have inspired many other service men and women to come to terms with their injuries.
